2025 Public Holidays Czech Republic Service
The above is the list of 2025 public holidays declared in Czech Republic which includes federal, regional government holidays and popular observances. We also provide Czech Republic holiday calendar for 2025 in Word, Excel, PDF and printable online formats.
National holidays in the Czech Republic are structured under the 1975 Act to amend the Act of 2 November 1951 Respecting the National Festivals, Public Holidays, Days of Remembrance, and Days of National Significance. That statute allows the government with the power to set up national days and to have one-time commemorations or national events. The law likewise allows the government power to take out holidays from the list—there have not been any removals since decreeing this law. The regulation prohibits the government from moving holiday celebration dates. Should a public holiday be on a weekend date, it is recognized on that date: Holidays are not transferred to the following workday for celebration.
The Czech Republic Labor Law requires employers to give all employees with a paid day off for national holidays. Should an employee have to work on the date, due to their work or position, the employer must to pay a premium wage for the time or give the employee another paid day off to make up for of the holiday.
Some national days in the Czech Republic are based on religious events. Some of the holidays will change each year since their celebration dates are planned based on the lunar cycle. The administration of the Czech Republic necessitates that employers must acknowledge these holy days regardless of when they take place each year. The government of the Czech Republic circulates public holidays in the National Gazette at the end of every year for the following year.
