2025 Public Holidays Mexico Service
The above is the list of 2025 public holidays declared in Mexico which includes federal, regional government holidays and popular observances. We also provide Mexico holiday calendar for 2025 in Word, Excel, PDF and printable online formats.
Mexico's public holidays are categorized into three: Statutory holidays, civil holidays and festivities. Statutory holidays are the national holidays in which government offices are closed, and workers were given a paid day off. When the statutory day falls on a Sunday the next working day is set aside for the celebrations. Civic holidays are public holidays honored nationally, but workers are not entitled to a day off. Festivities, on the other hand, are cultural events that honor religious, and traditions.
Mexico is a Christian dominated nation with the Roman Catholic Church being the main church. Most of the religious celebrations are based on the Roman Catholic traditions. Christians in Mexico celebrate Epiphany which is the story in the Bible about the arrival of the wise men who gave gifts to Jesus. Other holidays include Candlemas, Valentine's Day, All Saints Day, Christmas Day, and New Year Day.
Civic celebrations in Mexico are very important events marking historical events of the nation. Army Day is celebrated annually with mighty military shows. The day is celebrated to remember the foundation of Mexico Army when the military cadets escorted the president Madero to the National Palace. Other civic days include Flag Day which is the celebration in honor of the current Mexican flag. Heroic Defense of Veracruz, Oil Day Anniversary and others.
Statutory holidays are legislative and governed by Federal laws. Amongst the celebrated national holidays is the constitutional day which is the celebration for the promulgation of the current constitution. Another important holiday includes Independence Day which is celebrated to remember the day Mexico gained independence from the French administration.
